First of all I had to kick myself for not doing a review of this place sooner. This is the sort of restaurant that many food lovers dream of finding. It's a little place tucked away in a strip mall sort of place. The fact that this small Mexican restaurant has an associated mercado right next door is another good sign. I have eaten here multiple times, as well as getting take-away. The interior is clean, well lit, and has plenty of seating. And, big plus for any and all restaurants, the bathrooms were clean and in good condition. It is what it is: a neighborhood type Mexican restaurant that, while it may be common in other parts of the country, is somewhat rare around here, except for some Hispanic neighborhoods in the Greater Seattle area. This just makes La Venadita even more a treasure that it is surviving and, I hope, doing well here in the wilds of Issaquah. Now on to the food. First, while this may not be everyone's first choice, the menudo is very good. It's a red style menudo, which means the broth is cooked with chiles and is a little spicy. More importantly the tripe is properly cooked and tender. If you like menudo this is excellent. For people focusing on other menu items I can report that all the standard menu items, at least the ones that I have tried, are very good. The one drawback according to some people is that they don't have chile rellenos; but, that's a small point. Not every Mexican restaurant has chile rellenos. All in all the food is excellent. Now, let's get to service. I have had excellent service here regardless of whether I'm ordering food to wat there or for take-away. I can only judge a place by my own experiences. I fully realize that your mileage and performance may vary!
Dripped in here based on the positive reviews. The ambiance is simple but prices are reasonable. Service is quick and courteous. Loved my Camarones La Diablo. My husband said his dish was average. The portions are hearty though. Worth a visit.
Good food and good variety, friendly staff! Cute family neighborhood restaurant worth visiting
This is the best Mexican Restaurant in Issaquah, because it's the only Mexican Restaurant in Issaquah. Sure. If you search for "Mexican restaurants in Issaquah," others will pop up. Most of them are just fine, but they're not Mexican.
